Foot Orthotics

The Practice of Dr. Leonard N Marino is pleased to offer foot orthotics.  The feet are the foundation of the entire skeletal structure and alterations in foot structure negatively affect the kinetic chain.  Kinetic chain is that sequence of events which occur while walking and running.  Essentially it is a continuum of biomechanical events which transfers forces from the foot to the ankle to the knee to the  pelvis to the spine.  Alterations in foot structure affect the kinetic chain negatively and transfer abnormal forces to the formentioned areas of the skeletal structure.  This may perpetuate chronic pain and lead to premature degenerative changes and wearing of the foot, ankle, knee, pelvis and spine.
